NCEES recently announced the mechanical engineering PE exam will be a closed-book format CBT test and they will provide (on screen) the only reference allowed. For this reason, we will await until the NCEES exam reference becomes available to craft our practice exams based on their reference book.

2/11/2004 · I did the Mechanical PE two years ago. I began studying in January for the April test. This is enough time if you are able to stay focused and spend at least 10-15 hours per week. Even then, I struggled through the test (but passed!) I didn't take any courses, but I purchased the MERM which has a recommended study outline.
